2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC Specs, and Review

2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC
2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC simultaneously represents both the new and the prospective procreation of supersport bikes: turn from the crucial construct, its system abandons the overmuch of bodywork, reducing it to the naked necessities for effective mechanics. The exciting beauty of the specialized parts reveals a wheel with a wedge pattern that, until fresh, was mentation getable only for smaller engine sizes or Pianoforte Prix prototypes. Utter of the art engineering for the engine and chassis, coupled with singular usability, act this the perfect affiliate for the traveller who wants to make and redefine his limits with unparalleled somatesthesia and easiness.
Created with the single-minded goal of being simply the best on the track and on the road, since its inception the 2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC has astonished the world with its looks, technology and performance. The first 65° V-4 engine ever in a sports production bike, a chassis worthy of a 250 GP, Ride By Wire, multimap engine management: all these are accomplished achievements for the 2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC, that tops unique architecture and specs with Aprilia's signature excellent rideability brought to the next level.

The perfect centring of the weight is just one of the RSV4 frame's strong points. To achieve this result, every single aspect has been optimised down to the tiniest detail. As on a racing machine, the fuel tank is positioned so that the majority of the fuel sits under the saddle optimising bike balance and cancelling out handling differences between full and empty tank conditions.
In keeping with Aprilia's by now consolidated tradition, the RSV4's aluminium frame takes advantage of the resistance and flexibility of cast and moulded elements, a structure which sets new records in balance and dynamic efficiency. The result is maximum torsional stiffness and flexional stiffness optimised for total bike control. This makes 2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC not only a bike with deadly performance, but also makes its strong point the ease with which anyone can take full advantage of this performance. The swingarm also uses the same constructional technology as the frame and offers the same perfect balance between flexional and torsional stiffness to contribute to the extraordinary handling capabilities of the 2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC.
The particular construction of frame and swingarm allows both to be able to flaunt the natural and bright colour of the aluminium, another detail which is increasingly less evident on modern factory bikes and which gives the 2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC a purely racing look.
The chassis framework of the 2012 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC is completed by a top notch suspension package, the Sachs upside down fork has 43 mm diameter stanchions and offers the possibility of adjusting the spring and hydraulic compression and rebound preload. The Sachs rear shock was developed from experience learned directly on the track. It features a Piggy Back nitrogen canister (separate and mounted on the body of the unit) and adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound damping and length, allowing the height of the rear end of the bike to be altered to modify the set-up to suit different riding styles and tracks.
Completing the package is a steering damper, also by Sachs, which ensures impeccable high speed stability and millimetre precision in setting the bike up for turns.
The Öhlins Racing rear shock absorber was developed from experience learned directly on the track. It features a piggy back nitrogen canister (separate and mounted on the body of the unit) and adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound damping and length, allowing the height of the rear end of the bike to be altered to modify the set-up to suit different riding styles and tracks.

2012 Aprilia RS4 125 Specs, and Review

2012 Aprilia RS4 125
2012 Aprilia RS4 125 - This has got to be one for the youth of the world wanting to ride a sportsbike - Aprilia is updating the 50 and 125 cc versions of its Aprilia RS4 for 2012. More attention is being paid to the technology equipping these smaller sportsbikes for young riders as racing culture and its associated technology starts to feature across the range.
2012 Aprilia RS4 125 is powered by an all new 125 cc water cooled 4 stroke single cylinder engine with four valves and electronic engine boasting a sophisticated double overhead camshaft (DOHC) valve timing system. This engine produces the maximum power output permitted for the class with a smooth, linear delivery and ecologically - as it meets even the strictest emissions regulations in effect. With a six speed gearbox allowing the rider to make full use of the power available in all conditions, the 2012 Aprilia RS4 125 offers unbeatable performance in its class not just in terms of absolute power at high engine speeds, but also in terms of usable power band, minimised vibration and outstanding mechanical reliability.

Braking components consist of a solo 300mm disc and a four-piston radial mount caliper up front and a 218mm disc and single-piston caliper rearward. The RS4 rolls on 17-inch six-spoke wheels with tubeless tires.
The design of the fairings and tank, the unique looks of the front end, with the headlights suspended over the gaping air intakes, and the spectacular tapered tail fairing are identical to their counterparts on V4 1000 cc supersports model that set new standards in terms of style and technical content for the superbike segment.
Extensive aerodynamic studies have minimised surface areas without compromising wind protection, and the fairings showcase the superlative mechanicals of the 2012 Aprilia RS4  50 and 2012 Aprilia RS4 125 rather than conceal them. As a result, the frame and engine are not hidden away but proudly flaunted as fundamental elements of the design of Aprilia’s new small supersports models. With the triple headlight, the Aprilia RS4 bikes have a decidedly aggressive look that lends a unique character to the entire front end. The LED taillight merges stunningly into the ultra-compact tail fairing and offers excellent luminosity.

2012 Aprilia Shiver 750 Specs, and Review

2012 Aprilia Shiver 750
Aprilia have revised the Aprilia Shiver 750 naked sportsbike for 2012, with the bike getting new colours, the latest generation ride-by-wire technology and multiple engine maps (sport, touring, rain) that alter power delivery to suit various riding conditions.
2012 Aprilia Shiver 750 aims in no uncertain terms towards sportiness. The colouring with a new graphic (Bianco Glam and Nero Aprilia), the "wavy" discs and the sporty rider footpegs are just a few of the signals which Shiver gives off to the beholder. The line remains very streamline and Italian and thanks to the clever use of the new colours and graphics, Aprilia Shiver moves up a few notches as far as balance and aggression are concerned, highlighting some techniques that really make a difference, such as, for instance, the side shock absorber or the mixed steel trellis frame and aluminium plates.
2012 Aprilia Shiver 750’s V-twin produces 95 horsepower and 81Nm of torque, which makes for more than adequate performance in the real world, coupled with comfortable ergonomics and agile handling. Also, ABS is now available as an optional extra.
Upside-down fork with 43-mm stanchions and shell cast calliper mounts offering benchmark smoothness. Its 120-mm travel allows the rider to easily cope with city roads and mountain paths.
The lateral shock absorber is fitted directly to the swingarm using a cantilever set-up and the spring preload and hydraulic rebound are adjustable; the rear wheel travel is 130 mm.
The 2012 Aprilia Shiver 750 Dynamic qualities also enhanced by the choice of the 5.5 x 17 rear wheel, which maximises its handiness and rapidity in direction changes.

2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R Specs, and Review

2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R - After creating the best superbike of the new millennium, Aprilia revolutionises the supersports naked segment with its astonishing 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R. A bike that goes beyond the wildest dreams of even the most hardcore enthusiasts - the rider who, given the chance, would use a race bike just to go for a coffee.
2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R will be powered by the same liquid-cooled 999cc V-Four engine as used in the Superbikes. A new exhaust system has been fitted that’s more than four pounds lighter. An updated ride-by-wire throttle system with traction control has been added as well. The rest of the powertrain is essentially the same including the manual six-speed transmission and oil-bathed multi-plate clutch with slipper action functionality.
Like the original Tuono, the 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R is also immediately recognisable with its triple headlight fixed top fairing, the distinguishing trait of a bike which, like its twin cylinder predecessor, has the body and soul of its WSBK homologated sibling, but now - as well as having two world championships (the 2010 constructors' and riders' titles) under its belt - features two more cylinders and 41 horsepower more than before, while weighing over ten kilos less. These astonishing figures are a testimony to the technological evolution that made this exciting model a reality. The bike is available in two different configurations - Tuono V4 R and Tuono V4 R APRC - and in a choice of three colours: competition black, sunlit yellow and wing grey.
The chassis of 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R, including the rigid twin-spar aluminum frame, swingarm and RSV4R suspension components comprised of a 3-way adjustable Sachs fork and gas-charged shock absorber with 4-way adjustability, will also be shared with the RSV4 sportbike. Premium Brembo braking components are also the same as the Superbike. The Tuono V4R rolls on a set of three-spoke aluminum rims that are lighter than the RSV4R’s courtesy of a new manufacturing method. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.

2012 RSV4 Factory APRC Specs, and Review

2012 RSV4 Factory APRC
Aprilia are now showing the 2012 RSV4 Factory APRC at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The RSV4, currently one of the hottest, fastest superbikes on the planet, gets new colours for 2012 as well as revised engine management and a tweaked, optimised Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) package with eight-level traction control, launch control, quick shift system and wheelie control.
Created with the single-minded goal of being simply the best on the track and on the road, since its inception the 2012 RSV4 Factory APRC has astonished the world with its looks, technology and performance. The first 65° V-4 engine ever in a sports production bike, a chassis worthy of a 250 GP, Ride By Wire, multimap engine management: all these are accomplished achievements for the Aprilia RSV4, that tops unique architecture and specs with Aprilia's signature excellent rideability brought to the next level.

With 180 horsepower at 12,250rpm and 115Nm of torque at 10,000rpm from its 999cc V4, the 2012 RSV4 Factory APRC remains one of the most powerful litre-class superbikes in the world. At 179 kilos dry, it’s not the lightest in its class, but with its host of high-tech electronics and superb chassis, it definitely is one of the best handling. We expect the 2012 edition to come out on top in litre-bike shootouts that are sure to happen over the next few months.
The chassis framework is completed by a top notch suspension package, the Sachs upside down fork has 43 mm diameter stanchions and offers the possibility of adjusting the spring and hydraulic compression and rebound preload.

The new features introduced by the 2012 RSV4 Factory APRC in detail:

1. APRC Aprilia Performance Ride Control, the electronic management package including:
  • ATC: Aprilia Traction Control automatically adjusts to different types of tyres, with 8 settings conveniently selectable while racing from a joystick on the left handlebar without turning down the throttle;

2012 Aprilia RS4 125

  • A solo 300mm disc and a four-piston radial mount caliper up front and a 218mm disc and single-piston caliper rearward cuts down the speed of RS4 125. The bike rolls on 17-inch six-spoke wheels with tubeless tires.
  • Aprilia must have designed the bike keeping new riders in mind and hence the weight could be less than 375 pounds. Aprilia showcased the RS4 125 at the 2010 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The 2012 Aprilia RS4 125 is the upgrade of the RS 125 that inherits RSV4 Factory’s mechanisms such as tail fairing and air intakes under the headlight and a fuel tank that holds 3.8 gallons (1 gallon for reserve).
  • There are so many track/race features and the engine specs adhere to European power specs. So there are chances that Aprilia is focusing on some popular racing competition in the 125 cc, could be the 2012 125 cc MotoGP championship. Some auto journalists argue that Aprilia is taking a risk in launching a bike in the U.S. market which demands twice the displacement (250 cc) for practical street bikes pointing out that the Aprilia RS4 125 doesn’t fit the majority of new riders’ requirements.
  • The 2012 Aprilia RS4 125 will compete with the KTM 125 Duke in Europe only because KTM has clearly avoided the U.S. market. In California, the largest motorcycle market in the U.S., a motorcycle must have a minimum engine capacity of 250 cc in order to be eligible for riding it on the highway legally. Thinking on this line, Aprilia RS4 125 will have to be ridden only in city roads and it may turn down many potential youngsters from buying this motorcycle.
  • Although the RS4 125, with its sharp looks and strikingly macho stance will be made available in the U.S., the bike’s real demand will be in the European market especially in Italy and Spain.

Aprilia FV2 1200 Concept Review

Aprilia FV2 1200 Concept
The Aprilia FV2 1200 is a concentration of technical innovation, a blend of technology, performance, and pure adrenaline. This amazing concept bike embodies the sum total of Aprilia’s current technical know-how and points in the direction that technical development is likely to take at Noale in the next few years.
APRILIA FV2 1200

2007 was the twentieth anniversary of Aprilia's first GP win and a year in which another four world championships were won. This extraordinary achievement is a repeat of Aprilia's 2006 success story and takes the total of Aprilia's world championship titles to an amazing 31.
What better technical and sporting heritage could there be behind the Aprilia FV2 1200 concept bike? The FV2 1200 embodies the latest Aprilia technology and reveals the direction likely to be taken by technical and stylistic development at Aprilia in the near future.
The heart of the FV2 1200 is Aprilia's mighty, 1200 cc, 90° V twin, a power plant that confirms Aprilia's determination to develop high capacity, high technology engines using in-house skills and competence.
The minimalist bodywork of the FV2 1200 creates a stunning preponderance of volume towards the front of the bike. The result is a revolutionary, courageous and futuristic look that is destined to form the solid basis for the evolution of Aprilia motorcycle styling.
The engine also fulfils a structural role, and acts as the starting point for the backbone of the motorcycle, a carbon fibre, load bearing frame with integrated filter box. The seat is supported by an aluminium beam and by two carbon fibre struts that extend into the tail and around the rear light cluster. The parallelogram front suspension is based on the system already tried and tested on Aprilia's 250 cc GP racers.
These futuristic solutions have led to an amazing weight reduction (the FV2 1200 weighs under 160 kg) and an extremely compact size. The extraordinary agility that has always typified Aprilia motorcycles therefore finds its utmost expression in the Aprilia FV2 1200.
The 1200 cc V twin engine is liquid cooled and boast a ride-by-wire control system. Traction control, a latest generation ABS system and electronic suspension management are also provided to let you ride at your performance peak while maintaining complete control over the bike.
The Aprilia FV2 1200's dashboard incorporates a multi-functional instrument cluster that can be interfaced not only with the bike's own CAN line but with a PC too, making it possible to download telemetric data for personal performance evaluations, reconfigure the information shown on the matrix display, load new mappings from the internet, display itineraries, and integrate GPRS and GSM modules for mobile phone connectivity.

Aprilia RAM1000 Concept Review

Aprilia RAM1000 concept
Aprilia RAM1000 concept bike was created during autumn 2001. Basic concept was 1000cc, half-naked streetfighter for urban environment with massive power and aggressive riding position. The designer chose it to be an Aprilia. Besides sketching, the tool used in the project were Rhinoceros 3D and 3DSmax. Rapid prototype was made in 1:6 scale.

Heikki Naulapää: “This project was my one of the most difficult tasks while studying in Lahti; to design complete motorbike without hardly any experience from 3D modeling. When starting this project, I hadn’t got any experience of designing vehicles either, which made the task pretty challenging.
Design and modeling I did by myself (and I swet a lot), but rendering was done by my flat mate and current CG -artist Heikki Anttila. Last couple of pictures are taken from the rapid prototype -model, which was made from my data to the scale 1:9. It was real Christmas time when I saw the bike first time in “flesh” after endless hours of 3D modeling!”

2011 Aprilia Shiver 750 Specs, News, and Review...

The 2011 Aprilia Shiver 750s sportier styling guarantees a comfortable ride on short or long trips. A short windshield, wave brake rotors and rear set rider foot pegs show off race-inspired styling changes direct from Italy. A narrower saddle and narrower rear wheel guarantee smooth bike control on any surface.
Multi-map Ride by Wire technology, as found on the RSV4 superbike, comes standard with the 2011 Aprilia Shiver 750. With the simple push of a button, a rider can choose between Sport, Touring, and Rain for whichever mode suites his or her needs.
2011 Aprilia Shiver 750 Features

A V-90 engine with a maximum output of 95 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 81 Nm at 7,000 rpm promises the right amount of power for wherever you ride. The 2011 Aprilia Shiver 750 is available in Aprilia Black or Crowd Silver
It is certainly no easy matter to take the lead in a class as fiercely competitive as the medium powered naked class. A class where the battle is not just about technology and performance, but also design, component rationality and riding ease and pleasure, elements which are not always compatible and are particularly demanding for designers and engineers.
Aprilia has picked up this challenge and interpreted it by applying its own successful philosophy to a completely new design, destined to set new standards for years to come. A bike both strongly aggressive and at the same time clean-cut and elegant, in perfect Aprilia style. A bike at the top of its class for its sporty personality, designed on the basis of the know-how of a company which has to date won 250 world championship victories.
The pride of all Aprilia bikes, refined mechanics and a top class chassis, are once again the key to the success of the Shiver 750.
The 2011 Aprilia Shiver 750 is the naked everyone was waiting for. A design able to satisfy the disparate needs of those buying this type of bike. From everyday use to a trip along mountain passes or use on the racetrack, the 2011 Aprilia Shiver 750 is completely at home in any situation, guaranteeing pure riding pleasure at all times.
Light, agile and powerful, it has a new generation engine and the most advanced technical features in its class. The brand new 90° V2 produced entirely in-house by Aprilia is extremely compact. Above all, thanks to the advanced electronic management, it can deliver a level of power comparable to four cylinder engines in the same class, but with much more favourable torque at low revs for an efficient and pleasing ride even on everyday routes. True to the Aprilia tradition, the chassis simply has no rivals in its class. The innovative mixed trellis/aluminium frame provides standard setting rigidity. All this makes the bike extremely compact, perfect even for the beginner.
With a dry weight of just 189 kg, the lightness of the 2011 Aprilia Shiver 750 also satisfies the most canny motorcyclist. Its manoeuvrability and engine performance enable the bike to accompany its owner from his first few metres on two wheels up to his complete motorcycling maturity.

2010 Aprilia Pegaso 650 Factory Specs, News, and Review

As with all Aprilia sports bikes, the word ‘Factory’ has a precise meaning when used in the context of the Pegaso 650. The Pegaso 650 Factory is the most exclusive and fastest Pegaso ever, featuring a performance chassis, lighter materials and, of course, the latest Aprilia technology.
Comparisons with the SXV 450, the world’s most exciting supermotard, are inevitable. The Pegaso Factory incorporates a host of refinements for even better performance and an even more thrilling ride.

The components that distinguish the Pegaso Factory include:
• Spoked wheels with light alloy rims
• Radial front brake caliper
• Radial front brake master cylinder
• Aluminium, double taper handlebar
• Higher seat for greater control
• Carbon fibre front mudguard
• Carbon fibre side guards
• Carbon fibre exhaust shield

Though the Factory is powered by the same high performance, 650 cc, single cylinder, Euro 3 engine as the Pegaso 650, its lighter components and more effective chassis make it even easier to ride fast and aggressively.
These unique characteristics make the Pegaso Factory the perfect link between specialist and conventional supermotards, and give it the ability to deliver a truly thrilling, entertaining and satisfying on-road experience.
The new spoked wheels with gold anodised aluminium alloy rims are a clear reference to supermotard design. These prestige wheels reduce inertia and make the Pegaso Factory amazingly light to manoeuvre.
Impressive stopping power is delivered by a top class braking system. The four-pot radial caliper at the front wheel is complemented by a radial master cylinder as on the championship winning SXV 450. Top quality components, of course, do more than just add to the bike’s prestige: they ensure that performance too is the best you can get. Pace-setting brakes mean more effective sports riding and greater safety under normal conditions and around town.
Whether your journey takes you across town or over twisting mountain roads, the Pegaso Factory will give you the ride of your life. Its 20 mm higher seat transfers more weight on to the front wheel for a more active ride and greater control over the front end. The Factory places you in total control under all conditions, and gives you a feeling of immediate confidence. So if you are looking for a bike capable of guaranteeing real thrills even on challenging roads, look no further: the Pegaso Factory is the best road-going single you can find.

2011 Aprilia MANA 850 GT Specs, News,and Review

Versatile and multiform, the aprilia mana 850 gt is the most complete motorcycle on the market. Intelligent, innovative, comfortable with a unique on-the-road feel thanks to its sportgear transmission, it offers all the advantages of the mana with an extended range of use.
A completely new motorcycling concept, the result of technological expertise, the courage to believe in innovation and be daring which is Aprilia's hallmark together with attention paid to motorcyclists' needs and a tendency to look to the future: Mana 850 is a complete motorcycle, the new frontier, the missing link in an evolution that makes the world of motorcycling and its emotions accessible to all types of user.

Sequential/automatic transmission, radial brake calipers, helmet compartment, upside-down forks, Aprilia Mana combines the potential of the motorbike with an unmatched functional nature and flexibility of use. A unique bike in the motorcycling world with a potentially endless number of variations: this is the Aprilia Mana GT 850, the version that extends the proverbial versatility of the 850 cc produced in Noale even further.
Mana GT 850 is Aprilia's response to a constantly evolving market which is increasingly aware of mobility needs, impatient to try out vehicles that satisfy in daily use as well as on long trips.
The Mana GT version is designed to do just that: an elegant half-fairing perfectly integrated in the lines of the bike protects both rider and passenger on long journeys as well as in daily commuting making the bike ideal for touring. The adjustable windshield means that the level of protection can be adjusted to suit your own needs with a unique level of customisation.

Here are some of the Aprilia Mana GT 850's special features:

• Half-fairing with adjustable windshield;
• Sportgear transmission: electronically controlled sequential gearshift with two shift modes: seven speed manual or Autodrive with three different mappings: Sport/Touring/Rain;
• Helmet compartment with non-scratch lining for a full-face helmet, with mobile phone holder, toolkit/glove-box and 12V-power socket;
• New latest generation 2-channel Continental ABS system as standard
• Lateral shock absorber easily adjustable with the hand grip in preload and extension;
• 90° V engine with four valves per cylinder, Euro 3 homologated;
• Brakes with radial calipers;
• 43- mm upside down fork;
• Steel trellis frame with single piece aluminium swingarm;
• Under-seat fuel tank.

With these characteristics, the Mana 850 GT is the most functional and complete bike on the market.

INNOVATIVE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION

The half-fairing makes the GT version even more unique and lets you get the very best out of the V2 850-engine performance with Sportgear transmission. A two-cylinder engine that with its 76 HP and exceptionally flat torque curve gives excellent performance already at low revs, in acceleration, pick-up and at speed, and is the perfect match for the touring soul of the Mana 850 GT and the motorcyclist's need for responsiveness.

Intelligent transmission

The primary drive is the focal point of the entire Mana range. The Sportgear transmission offers the rider a choice of different driving modes:

•Sequential mode: The rider decides when to change gear by using the conventional control on the pedal or by pressing a switch on the handlebars as desired. An electronically-controlled servo mechanism acts on the main pulley which changes the gearshift mode with seven gear ratios amazingly quickly. Only during deceleration, if the rider does not manually change gear, the engine automatically changes down gear using the Semi-Sequential function and preventing the minimum RPM threshold from going below the set limit. Another valuable aid to safe riding.
•Fully automatic mode (Autodrive): the sophisticated electronics control everything and the CVT transmission keeps the engine running at maximum torque speed for optimum pick-up and acceleration. The rider can choose from three different mappings:
1.Touring: for those who want a softer power delivery and minimum fuel consumption;
2.Sport: for maximum performance and quick acceleration;
3.Rain: on wet or slippery roads in maximum safety; Semi-Autodrive mode only allows the rider to change down gear. This is useful for overtaking at maximum torque revs or when riding down a hill when engine braking is required.

You can switch from Autodrive to Sequential mode and vice versa at any time and in any riding conditions. The handlebar gearshift control can be disabled from the dashboard.

With this technical solution, the Mana GT 850 adapts perfectly to any type of road and offers relaxed cruising or exhilarating sports riding depending on the rider's needs or wishes.

ELEGANT DESIGN AND INGENIOUS SOLUTIONS

Mana GT 850 uses the same technical base as the Mana and shares the same exclusive and unmistakable Italian design. The original fairing with adjustable windshield that surrounds the characteristic round headlamp, a distinctive feature of the Mana range, is practical and elegant.
The 16-litre tank is located under the saddle in a lower position to distribute weight more evenly and lower the bike’s centre of gravity making it incredibly light and easy to ride. Where the tank would normally be is occupied instead by an illuminated storage compartment lined with non-slip, non-scratch material and big enough to hold a full-face helmet as well as a mobile-phone holder and a 12V-power socket. All this offers storage capacity which is virtually unheard of in the world of motorcycling.
Like its Naked sister bike, the compartment is opened electrically by a switch on the handlebar. Opening is controlled by a hydropneumatic damper that is designed to prevent accidental opening while the bike is in motion. A manually operated lever under the passenger seat is provided to release the compartment lid in the event of a flat battery.

SPECIAL CHASSIS

The refined chassis on the Aprilia Mana GT 850 guarantees relaxed, safe handling on all road surfaces. The robust steel tube trellis frame has a single piece aluminium swingarm that directly controls a laterally-offset shock absorber that frees precious space for the exhaust pipe in the delicate area behind the engine which makes the motorcycle very compact and manageable when changing direction both in town traffic and when out riding in the hills during the weekend.
On the Mana GT 850 the spring preload and damper rebound can be adjusted with a knob and has been moved to the outside. It can be easily accessed for quick and precise adjustments to adapt to your own particular riding needs and bike load (passenger, luggage, etc.).

The 43-mm upside down fork slides easily and has an optimised set-up that suits the new weight distribution and the touring nature of this bike.Its 120-mm front wheel travel allows you to effortlessly tackle all sorts of road surface and offers the right support even under sport riding conditions.

SAFETY FIRST

The Mana GT 850 is the most versatile motorcycle on the market with the most complete range of technical equipment that focuses on the concept of safety.
The only one in its category, the efficient braking system, which has a front system with 320 mm discs and radial calipers, combined with a latest generation two-channel Continental ABS system that increases active and passive riding safety even when braking on difficult road surfaces avoiding locking up the brakes as well as improving braking performance. In fact, on the Mana 850 GT ABS all riders can fully use the bike’s generous braking power in perfect safety on any road surface.
Add to this the total concentration on riding guaranteed by the Autodrive gearshift mode even in busy city traffic. Plus traffic light burning acceleration for an agile, responsive and quick motorcycle that pulls you away from any emergency situation as well as Rain mapping to help when riding on road surfaces with reduced grip.

New Aprilia RS125 2010 Specification

Aprilia's RS125 is one European exotic you can buy today. But there's a catch: The little two-stroke's blue exhaust haze restricts U.S. usage to the racetrack. Fair enough-that's where this race replica belongs. Beneath the lively colors of that Jorge Lorenzo-replica bodywork is a race-proven 125cc Rotax single, liquid-cooled to keep cylinder temperature consistent. Crankcase induction favors top-end power that's perfect for the track. There's no premixing required, the automatic system metering lubrication precisely to keep the engine internals happy.

The product of years of racing experience, Aprilia's polished aluminum frame and bridged swingarm are manufacturing masterpieces, offering GP-spec rigidity and precise handling. Rearset foot controls provide plenty of cornering clearance at steep lean angles, and that asymmetric swingarm makes room for a tucked-in silencer. You'll drag an elbow before hard parts touch down.

While we didn't drag ours, we did go through a set of knee pucks wringing the thing out around Willow Springs' Horse Thief Mile. Flowing and tight, it's the perfect place to explore the Aprilia's abilities. A wet weight just over 300 pounds makes it a master of momentum, perfectly content to flick into most bends without scrubbing off any speed. All it takes to turn it in is a light push on the narrow clip-ons and the bike is on its side, tracking with superb stability.

The standard Dunlop rubber is up to most track tasks, though front-end grip is a limiting factor. Thankfully, the front tire's contact patch sends plenty of feedback through the stout 40mm fork. Rear tire movement is controlled by a single shock wedged between the rear frame spars. Adjustability is limited to shock spring preload, which is unfortunate but entirely acceptable considering the quality of the rest of the bike and its reasonable $5499 price tag.
Despite a seemingly insatiable appetite for uninterrupted speed, robust brakes are there if you need them. A four-piston caliper is ready to bite down on the front wheel's 320mm rotor with exceptional strength and progressiveness.

As with all two-strokes, low-rev power is lackluster. The bulk of the output is focused between 9500 and an unmarked redline around 11,500 rpm. Keeping things spinning in that sweet spot requires quick use of your left foot, but it pays off with smooth, strong power. Considering the bike's stellar handling and cornering capabilities, a well-ridden RS125 will give a 600cc sportbike a run for its money on tighter courses-especially with sticky, track-spec tires.

While it's a pity you can't ride the RS125 to the track, it's ridiculously easy to load in your truck. So whether you're an aspiring roadracer looking to build your skills or an experienced enthusiast in the market for a new track toy, the RS125 is the two-stroke alternative to the 600cc status quo.
